The 2010 Elections Will Be Like None Before: ENDORSEMENTS COMING SOON!
Recognizing that the 2010 elections are vital to the renewal of our Constitutional Republic and that they will not be “business as usual”, Stand Up South Carolina is preparing to begin endorsing candidates for state and federal office who understand that South Carolina and America are at a crossroads. We must do some serious soul-searching about which way we are going to go. We must stand up to protect our American values.
Normally, endorsements are not made until a few weeks or months before primaries or general elections. But, again, this is no time for “business as usual”. Here are the criteria we will be using to make endorsements:
1. A demonstrated commitment to Limited Government as defined by the U.S. and South Carolina constitutions – limiting the government is what allows us, as citizens, to protect our inalienable rights to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, self-defense and much, much, more.
2. A demonstrated commitment to Free Enterprise – the freest, most open market place possible is what has provided America and South Carolina with the ability to produce in abundance for ourselves and our posterity.
3. A demonstrated Respect For Citizenship – by honoring those who are born here and those who come here honestly, respectfully, and legally, the government will be doing what it should; the present approach rewards foreign criminal trespassers and punishes those who behave respectfully.
4. A demonstrated understanding that Actions Have Consequences – we must restore this understanding as a fundamental part of the consensus among citizens and within our governments at all levels: neither governments nor corporations nor individuals who make foolish decisions should be rewarded with bailouts of any type at any time – charity comes from family, friends, community and charitable organizations, not from the taxpayers whose hard earned dollars are the source of the public treasuries.
Let us know what you think of these criteria. Tell us if you have suggestions for additional criteria and also let us know if you know of a candidate or potential candidate who is worthy of consideration according to these principles.
Look for our endorsements to begin soon.
We hope you have a wonderful, safe, and freedom-filled INDEPENDENCE DAY. Keep the Spirit of 1776 Alive and stand up to protect our American values.

Those look like excellent criteria. I am a GOP candidate for Adjutant General.
I nominate me!

These are criteria that I wish all of our leaders had to follow.

Aren’t all of these criteria common sense? I used to think so until I see how far we are getting from them every time I turn on the TV. I’d like to urge everyone to spend time to really research the candidates for 2010. We need to get back to the basic values that our great nation was founded on. Now more than ever is the time to become involved and make your voice heard.
